1OAK Launches Ubiquitous MPOS Solution Sequoia

SequoiaUS-based 1OAK has launched a patent-pending mPOS solution that sidesteps issues around NFC and ridiculous bolt-on hardware, as well as beating costly legacy infrastructure updates for merchants.

Merchants simply stick the secure Sequoia payments device to their existing POS to start accepting payments, while consumers just load up their credit card details to the Sequoia app to get going.

The app, where the user can swipe between different bank cards to pay, communicates the encrypted information wirelessly to the Sequoia device. The company believes this is the only solution out there that works cross-device and is compatible with iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows handsets.

The device comes at an attractive price point and the company only charges a one-off purchase fee.

1OAK boasts engineering talent from Symantec, Motorola, Samsung, Microsoft, and Hewlett Packard.
