80 per cent of Apple Watch owners in the US and UK are already using Apple Pay, according to a study by Wristly.

The stat possibly says more about the make-up of the Watchs audience than adoption of the payment service – three quarters of those whod tried Pay actually used it on an iPhone first. Given that the average usage on iPhone 6 is around 15-20 per cent, this suggests that Watch owners are Apple super-fans or early adopters by nature.

While the iPhone may have been first contact for these users, however, 79 per cent said they preferred using Apple Pay on their Watch.

The study also found that the Pay experience was most commonly a positive one. 51 per cent described it as magical, and 42 per cent as convenient, while just four per cent identified it as not that useful and only three per cent said they had concerns.
