Absolut Vodka Bottles Go Shazamable in Canada

Absolut ShazamCanadian drinks company Corby Spirit and Wine is introducing Shazamable labels on its bottles, in partnership with Tapped Mobile.

The first brand adopting this interactivity is Absolut vodka, which will feature neck-tags with an invisible watermark that can only be picked up by the app. When scanned using the apps visual recognition feature, the app will serve up branded content – in this case, a microsite with 1,000 cocktail recipes involving Absolut.

“Shazams visual recognition technology has established a new tool to communicate with our consumers right from the shelf in a meaningful way, and to share engaging content that is relevant to their consumption habits and cocktail education interests,” said Maxime Kouchnir, VP Marketing at Corby. “With this innovative platform, Corby will continue to drive the digital revolution thats currently shaking up our industry.”
