Accenture Reveals 2016 FinTech Innovation Startups

fintech inno labEnterprise tech strategists Accenture have unveiled the 15 shortlisted startups which are taking part in the companys 2016 FinTech Innovation Lab London, ranging from cognitive computing to intelligent blockchain applications and biometric security systems.

The London lab was launched by Accenture in 2012, and the 15 startups selected represent the fourth cohort of fintech companies to be mentored by experts from Accenture and 16 leading financial institutions during the 12 week course.

Each startup will be partnered with senior-level bank executives who will help them in fine-tuning their technologies and business strategies. At the end of the course, six of the startups will present to an audience of venture capitalists and senior financial industry executives at an Investor Day event.

“The disruption of financial services by FinTech entrepreneurs continues at speed,” said Richard Lumb, group chief executive of financial services at Accenture. “Were incredibly excited about working with this years entrepreneurs to make banking better, cheap and faster.

“They offer some exciting innovations and have demonstrated exceptional creativity in what has been a record-breaking year for applications from more than 30 countries, confirming that London is very much the centre of Europes thriving FinTech community.”

Among this years competing startups are AimBrain, a mobile-focused biometric authentication platform; Voleo, a mobile app that enables users to start a smart investment club; Albert, a mobile bookkeeping and financial planning platform and PayKey, a payment keyboard for use within social and messenger apps.
