Websystems has announced a mobile version of its project management software, AceProject.
The company has opted for a mobile web application, rather than a downloadable app. It says this was to maintain compatibility with all the main mobile platforms – AceProject Mobile works on most major mobile web browsers.
“Multi-platform compatibility is a part of our philosophy,” says Michel Bourbeau, graphic designer and web integrator at Websystems. “We didn’t want to offer iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry apps. We put all our efforts on one web app that works on all mobile devices.”
Websystems releases the AceProject mobile app as the company is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its AceProject web software. AceProject on the desktop is a project management, timesheet management, document management, HR management and project collaboration web application, and the mobile app brings this functionality to the mobile space.
Websystems has included document management features in AceProject Mobile – documents can be downloaded, locked/unlocked and shared. “Document management is an essential part of AceProject, and although this feature may seem a bit overkill for use on a mobile device, we think AceProject isn’t AceProject without document management,” says André Brassard, web developer at Websystems.
