Amazon.co.uk has launched a transactional app for iPad.
The free app recreates Amazons eCommerce offering, optimised for the iPad and iPad Mini, with all the usual features – personalised recommendations, wish lists, one-click ordering, and the rest.
“We’re delighted to offer customers another way to make shopping on Amazon.co.uk a great experience from virtually anywhere,” said Xavier Garambois, Vice President of EU Retail at Amazon. This app makes it easy to browse millions of products, and scroll through product images and details on a single page. Customers can view the latest deals, watch movie trailers, and even listen to song samples.” 
The app is the first time the retailers UK arm has released a dedicated iPad app – it previously had a universal iOS app.
Amazon.com, meanwhile, has gone the other way, bringing its Instant Video app – which launched for iPad in August – to iPhone and iPod. The app enabels users to download and watch videos theyve rented via Amazon.
