Android Device Manager Helps Users Find Their Phones

Google is launching Android Device Manager, its answer to Apples Find My iPhone, as an Android app and through Google Play on desktop.

Users will be able to set their handset to ring at maximum volume, even if it’s currently on silent. If that doesnt unearth the device, they can then see its location on a map, updated in real time.

If the phone still can’t be recovered, Device Manager will also enable users to erase all data on the device.

The service will launch later this month, and is compatible with devices running Android 2.2 and above.
