Best Western Delivers Hotel Room Service App

Best Western has worked with mobile hospitality developer QikServe to create an app for hotel room service.

Users scan a QR code provided in each room to tell the service where they are and gain access to the digital menu and ordering service.

The QikServe app connects to a cloud-based processing platform over the internet using mobile data or free wi-fi. It then routes orders directly to the hotel’s electronic POS system.
Two Best Western Plus hotels in Scotland, the Bruntsfield Hotel in Edinburgh and the Keavil House Hotel in Dunfermline are the first to adopt the app.

It can be customised by a participating hotel using the web-based menu editor to offer further room service options.

“We are very confident that the novelty and ease of placing room service orders by this method will increase room service revenue,” said Russell Imrie, MD, Queensferry Hotels.

“The QikServe app is configured to offer many more items of food and drink than are normally offered on a standard printed room service menu, which increases guest choice and improves the chances of a higher average spend.”

The app is currently available for Android and iOS.
