Bethesda Studio Takes to Tinder to Find a Match for Fallout

bethesda tinder fallout shelterGames developer Bethesda Studio, developer of the popular Fallout series of post-apocalyptic games, is promoting its mobile game Fallout Shelter in a unique way, with a fake profile on Tinder based on the game series.

According to Tech News Today, several Tinder users have reported spotting “Vault-Boy” on the popular dating app. The characters pictures include images from the Fallout Shelter game, while the profile suggests that he is 25 years old, and enjoys “taking coffee breaks and exploring the blasted wasteland.” There is reportedly also a female version of the profile, set up as “Vault Girl”.

The profile seems to be part of Bethesdas latest ad campaign for Fallout Shelter, itself a promotional game in the lead-up to the release of Fallout 4. The companys official Twitter profile recently tweeted “#DateaDweller”, while the Tinder profile reportedly includes an app download link for the mobile game.

Its not the first time Tinder has been used to virally promote products. At SXSW this year, users were connected with a character from the film Ex Machina, while in a more traditional campaign, Bud Light ran a native video campaign as part of its Whatever USA promotion in April.
