Bingo Blitz supports Feeding America by turning virtual meals into real ones

Free-to-play social bingo game, Bingo Blitz, is turning virtual meals into real meals provided by Feeding America, the US’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization.

Currently, Bingo Blitz players create virtual dishes in the game, and up until tomorrow, for every single virtual meal prepared in-game, Bingo Blitz will donate $1 to Feeding America to help sustain the most vulnerable people. According to the game’s publisher, Playtika, $1 helps to provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.

Feeding America’s nationwide network of food banks, pantries and meal programs serve virtually every community in the United States – more than 40m people, including 12m children and 7m seniors. The network is already providing essential hunger-relief for people impacted by the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Millions of Americans play casual games every day on social media or on smartphones, making up a huge online community. Bingo Blitz is played by over 1m people on social networks and mobile platforms every day. Playtika said it is passionate about mobilising casual gamers to make a real difference in communities across the country. The company is already a partner of the World Health Organization’s #PlayApartTogether campaign, which promotes the importance of social distancing to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus, whilst at the same time, encouraging people to reach out to and support others through gaming. The campaign is rallying the gaming community worldwide to combat loneliness and social isolation.

“It is a privilege to be partnering with Feeding America and to be supporting their crucial work,” said Bingo Blitz general manager, Dudu Dahan. For the first time ever, it is now possible for players to genuinely help people just by playing a game with their friends. We want to show that gaming is not just a way to relax, have fun and be connected with others, it can also be a powerful tool for building a better society”.

Lauren Biedron, vice president of corporate partnerships at Feeding America added: “During these challenging times it is important that everyone joins the fight against hunger. We appreciate Bingo Blitz and its players for supporting Feeding America as we work to serve communities across the US.”
