Channel Tunnel Switches on Mobile for Travelers from the UK

People traveling from London to Paris using the Channel Tunnel will now be able to make calls and use the internet while under ground.
The service went live yesterday for people on Vodafone and EE, with O2 UK soon to follow. The Eurostar, which serves 20m people each year, has been fitted with a fibre optic system to provide 2G and 3G telephone and internet services. The UK operators say they anticipate an upgrade to 4G in the future. 
The tunnel from France to the UK has mobile services activated by French operators in time for the London Olympic Games
