Amazon Brings Apps to Windows Phone

Amazon.co.uk has released a version of its mobile shopping app for the Windows Phone platform. The app, which was designed specifically for the OS, enables users to browse and buy from the online retailer's vast selection, with all the usual customer reviews and product details.

Perhaps most interesting, it also features a barcode scanner to see any scanned product's price on Amazon, which can be placed as a tile directly onto their homescreen.

“The new Amazon Mobile app offers customers all of the great features of the Amazon shopping experience,” says Greg Greeley, vice president EU Retail at Amazon. “Windows Phone is an increasingly popular choice for many Amazon customers, so we’re delighted to be able to offer them a bespoke app with this new start screen feature, only available for Windows Phone.”
