47 per cent of retailers have named Amazon as the coolest mobile or social affiliate program they have seen to date, in a poll conducted by EPiServer. Next on the list was eBay, at 20 per cent, and Shopkick and Wrapp each with 5 per cent.

When asked which platform they anticipate making the greatest investment in over the next three to five years, the majority (59 per cent) of respondents chose their website, while 35 per cent selected a mobile app and 22 per cent chose social networks.

Bob Egner, vice president of product management and global marketing at EPiServer says: "While e-commerce leaders appear to be making a greater investment in mobile and social platforms as a means for engaging with consumers and starting them on their way down the conversion funnel, the survey’s results demonstrate that e-commerce leaders continue to look to their website as a principal platform for completing the sale and achieving ROI."

The poll surveyed senior business executives from 95 organisations including local and online retailers, manufacturers, and wholesalers.
