Apple pays damages to Samsung for patent infringement

A Dutch court has ordered Apple to pay damages to Samsung over a patent, held by Samsung, relating to the way phones and Tablets connect to the internet. The exact amount of damages has not been announced, but will be calculated based on sales of the iPhone and iPad in the Netherlands.

Samsung had originally claimed that Apple had infringed four of its patents, but only one of these was deemed to have been breached.
