Celtra Secures $4m for Potential APAC Expansion

Celtra's rich media AdCreator platformCeltra's rich media AdCreator platformCeltra has received $4m to ‘explore opportunities’ in the lucrative Asia-Pacific region, particularly Japan, as well as expanding its product development operations into San Francisco.

The rich media platform had an impressive year in 2012, emphasising where the mobile advertising industry is headed, as it became profitable in Q3 and saw overall revenue growth of 300 per cent. The company says that four of the top five mobile ad networks and eight out of the top 10 media agencies now use its AdCreator platform, enabling them to create their own rich media ads.

Softbank, the US-based investment firm which successfully introduced the iPhone into Japan, led the round, with existing investors GrandBanks Capital and Fairhaven Capital also participating.
