First Free Train Departures and Tickets App from ScotRail

Train operator ScotRail has launched an app that provides real-time train running information, complete with platform numbers. The app also enables users to buy tickets, which can be collected from any station with a booking office or ticket vending machine.

According to the company, the ScotRail app is the only one in the UK to offer this combined functionality to be offered free of charge.

Graeme Macfarlan, marketing manager at ScotRail, says: “It’s like having a live departure board and a ticket office in your pocket, offering instant access to travel information at any time – even when you’re on the move.”
