Fujitsu Mobilizes the Checkout Experience

Technology company Fujitsu has announced the My U-Scan and U-Shop mobile apps to personalize the customer’s shopping and checkout experience.

Using the U-Shop app, consumers can scan items using a smartphone and add or remove items from their shopping list. Once finished shopping, they can use app’s payment functionality at the self-checkout or a cashier station, avoiding long lines. 

 “The wide adoption of self-checkout proves that consumers are empowered by do-it-yourself options in-store,” said Brian Yates, Director of Retail Product Marketing at Fujitsu America. “The U-Shop mobile application is moving the needle forward by helping customers shop for items on the mobile devices they use every day.”

The My U-Scan mobile app works in conjunction with Fujitsu’s U-Scan self-checkout solution, and enables consumers to scan their mobile device at the self-checkout station to activate customized options such as preferred language, loyalty/frequent shopper number, electronic receipt options, preferred payment method, clerk assistance, and other personalized options.
