With Euro 2012 powering forward, an increasing number of users are reaching for sports apps - and accordingly, an increasing number of apps are emerging. Enter Fancru, a sports 'fan engagement' app for iOS, which updates users on news from their chosen teams, enables them to chat to other fans of the same team, and check in at games.

There's also a reward scheme - which means Fancru can be used as a mobile marketing platform by teams, leagues, venues and brands.

"As teams and leagues look to engage late teens and early twenty-somethings who are getting a better game experience with huge HD TVs on their couches or at bars, the app is a way for them to still touch those fans without having to get them into an increasingly costly stadium seat," says Fancru co-founder John Wagner. "It's also a way of extending the fan relationship beyond game day and onto a platform fans are already on all the time - their mobile devices."
