Metro Launches iPhone Edition
Morning freesheet Metro has launched an iPhone edition, designed to match the print edition as closely as possible, and available through Newsstand on iOS to allow offline reading.
Metro is looking to boost its reach on social media and mobile, and launched a Facebook app and Kindle e-link earlier this year. Its Tablet edition has had more than 565,000 downloads since October 2011.
Linda Grant, managing director at Metro, says: "As we look to extend the appeal of Metro beyond the traditional commute, we’re continuing to innovate and develop our mobile and digital offerings. Our vision is to ensure Metro’s content is available to urbanites on the move, at any time of day and across the channels that best suit them."
