Newcastle hotel swaps Bibles for Kindles
Newcastle's Hotel Indigo is swapping the traditional bedside Gideon's Bible for a Kindle e-reader. Each Kindle will come pre-loaded with an electronic version of the Bible, with guests also given the option to download other religious books via hotel wi-fi during their stay.
“Every Hotel Indigo draws inspiration from its local area to give guests an individual experience,” says Adam Munday, general manager of Hotel Indigo Newcastle. “In the 18th Century, Newcastle was one of the largest print centres in Britain and we’re in Grainger Town, close to the Lit & Phil. We wanted to reflect this literary history in a very contemporary way.”
