Qualcomm Collaborating on Sesame Street Apps

Qualcomm is collaborating with Sesame Workshop, the non-profit organisation responsible for Sesame Street, on educational apps for children.

The first two apps created through this partnership are Abby’s Fairy Rock and Big Bird’s Words. The latter is actually the first app ever to use the text recognition capability of Qualcomm's AR platform Vuforia, as children are encouraged to find new words in the real world and scan them using the app, in order to help them build their vocabulary. You can see a video of the app in action below.

Qualcomm and Sesame Workshop are also continuing their collaborations in China and India. Galli Galli Sim Sim, the Indian version of Sesame Street, is using 3G to distribute educational audio, video and text content.
