Samsung announces 'split-screen' Galaxy Note 8
Samsung Galaxy Note 8Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 8 will allow users to split the screen between two applications when it launches globally between April to June.
The new Andriod tablet will sit in between the iPad Mini and iPad with an 8” screen offering 189 pixels per inch. Shipped with an S Pen stylus, the South Korean manufacturer claims the tablet is good enough to replace traditional pen and paper.
Price details have not yet been revealed but the Note 8 is expected to be positioned as a premium tablet.
Samsung will be hoping the Galaxy Note 8 moves it closer to rival Apple in tablet shipments. Although the South Korean manufacturer has a global lead in smart devices as a whole, accounting for just over one in five of all shipped, its position is buoyed by large smartphone volumes. In tablets, its 15% share of the market lags behind Apple’s leading 43%, according to figures from IDC.
