Twitter Shuts Down Micro-Blogging Site Posterous
![]()
Twitter has announced that as of 30 April, it will be shutting down the micro-blogging site Posterous, along with all related mobile apps, that it acquired just under a year ago.
The announcement was made on the Posterous blog several days ago, and includes information on how users can back up their content, photos and documents, as well as move their site to another blogging service if desired, prior to shutting down the site.
“On April 30th, we will turn off posterous.com and our mobile apps in order to focus 100% of our efforts on Twitter,” said Posterous founder and CEO Sachin Agarwal. “We’d like to thank the millions of Posterous users who have supported us on our incredible journey. We hope to provide you with as easy a transition as possible, and look forward to seeing you on Twitter. Thank you.”
