Zappar Launches AR-enabled Moshi Monsters Toys

Zappar has partnered with Mind Candy, the company behind the Moshi Monsters phenomenon, and merchandise company Milkshake, to launch AR-enabled 'Light Buddies' key-chain toys.

When the Zappar app is used to scan the toys, which each feature one of 12 Moshi Monsters characters, an animation plays, overlaid on the device's camera feed, bringing the character to virtual life. The child can then take a photo or video of the animated character which they can then share.

“Light Buddies are another fun way to bring a bit of Zappar magic to one of the world’s most loved brands, through a new product,” said Zappar managing director Caspar Thykier.
