Sellers using eBay’s iPhone and iPad apps will now be able to save and edit multiple listings cross-platform. The draft function update means users can make use of photo capabilities on their smartphone and then complete longer descriptions on their PC. The iPhone app now contains step-by-step category, pricing and shipping guidance.
The apps have improved auto-complete search functionality for buyers and those without a PayPal account can now make purchases via the guest checkout feature. There is also a single-screen view to review and confirm purchases.
eBay saw record mobile use over Christmas, and it plays an increasingly important part in the company’s strategy. 1.8m new customers joined eBay through a mobile device in the first three quarters of 2012. 2.4m listings every week are placed using a mobile device.
