Dozen DonutsDunkin Donuts has announced two milestones in its mobile marketing strategy, having surpassed 10m downloads of its Dunkin Mobile App, and 2m members of its loyalty program DD Perks.

To celebrate the achievements, the company has revealed new enhancements to both the DD Perks program and Dunkin Mobile App, as well as offering new loyalty scheme members the chance to win $1,000 (£635).

The Dunkin Mobile App includes a mobile payment system which enables guests to pay for food, beverages and merchandise using preloaded money. Users will now be able to activate an auto-recharge feature, ensuring that their mobile wallet always has money stored in it.

The DD Perks loyalty program, which is fully integrated into the app, enables members to earn points on every purchase, and will now allow members to share their rewards with friends and family through the app, as well as awarding a coupon for a free beverage of any size for every 200 reward points they accumulate, and on their birthday.

Customers who register for DD Perks before the end of November have a chance of winning a $1,000 cash prize, which has also been awarded to two millionth member Jae Choi from Greenwich, Connecticut. Choi will also receive free coffee for a year, and an exclusive trip for two to the brands hometown near Boston, Massachusetts, including a special VIP trip to Dunkin Donuts headquarters.

“Providing our guests with new levels of speed and convenience so that they can run on Dunkin more quickly than ever is an important part of our growth strategy,” said John Costello, president of global marketing and innovation for Dunkin Brands. “These two digital milestones are evidence that our loyal customers are responding to our efforts to provide a superior mobile experience and our commitment to create one of the most robust loyalty programs in the market.”
