eHarmony Sees Record Post-Christmas Mobile Sign-Ups

Mobile registrations to eHarmony.co.uk increased by 222 per cent from the week before to the week after Christmas 2012, a 70 per cent year-on-year increase. More than a third of all eHarmony UK registrations during this time came from mobile devices.

While this is traditionally a time when people start looking to find a new relationship, eHarmony attributes this huge growth to the number of new devices being unwrapped during the lull in the run up to New Year.

“Mobile devices are now a trusted personal accessory and have significantly increased the opportunities for singles to seek relationships whilst on the go,” said Bryn Snelson, UK country manager at eHarmony. “We expected a leap in mobile registrations as we are constantly developing and innovating new ways to make online dating more accessible to users, and are thrilled by the growing trend. It’s not peaked yet, in fact this is just the beginning.”

eHarmony.co.uk has registered 2.5m users in the UK since its launch in 2008.
