Facebook Launching TV-style Video Spots?

Facebook is reportedly set to launch video ads, costing advertisers as much as $2.5m (£1.7m) a day.

The ads will appear in users feeds and take the form of TV-style 15 second spots, according to Bloomberg, citing two anonymous sources. They are set to cost between $1-2.5m.

Its not yet clear whether this will be across its desktop and mobile offerings, but with more and more of its userbase – and income – coming from mobile, it would seem unusual to exclude the channel.

Facebook last week reported revenues of $1.6bn for Q2, 2013, 88 per cent of which was accounted for by advertising – with mobile contributing $656m.
