First TransPennine has relaunched its website using adaptive design so desktop and mobile users are only shown the details most appropriate to them.
The adaptive site shows mobile browsers a limited number of the most frequently used site functions, including the GPS station finder. Social is (perhaps bravely) built in, with a deep link to the companys Twitter account clearly signposted throughout.
Mobile users aren’t able to buy tickets on the site at present and are instead directed to the companys non-optimised booking engine or to download the app. A spokesperson said mobile-optimised ticketing would go live on the site next year.
