Fortumo Unveils Business Intelligence Platform for Operators

Fortumo InsightMobile payments firm Fortumo has revealed a new smart analytics platform aimed at mobile operators that will aim to give networks a better understanding of their carrier billing performance and make changes to their billing setup in order to increase revenues.

The platform, called Fortumo Insight, is a result of Fortumos work with merchants across the entire digital ecosystem, from app stores to streaming services and productivity tools. The platform will enable carriers to see which segments and merchants are making the most revenue for them, and enable them to focus their priorities on the marketing efforts that will pay off the most.

Fortumo Insight also enables operators to measure user activations, adjust spending limits to increase performance and prevent fraud, increase the rate of successful payments and estimate future revenues.

Direct carrier billing is an increasingly popular method of payment, with conversion rates up to three times higher than credit card on mobile, and revenues expected to increase to $24.7bn (£17.3bn) in 2019 from $14.5bn in 2014.

Fortumo helps operators collect payments in over 90 countries, and works together with merchants including Microsoft, Sony, Google and Electronic Arts. In addition to Fortumo Insight, the firm has also launched a new initiative called Uplift for its partner companies.

“Uplift aims to provide carriers with information and education on how to improve billing performance, optimise the revenue and increase subscriber satisfaction,” said Gerri Kodres, chief business officer at Fortumo.
