Google Introduces Low-code App Developer Tool

Google-Logo-IRL.jpgGoogle has introduced a low-code app developer tool for building custom enterprise applications to its G Suite brand.

App Maker allows businesses to quickly build and deploy custom apps tailored to the organisation’s needs. It offers people a cloud-based integrated development environment featuring built-in templates, a drag-and-drop user interface and point-and-click data modelling to accelerate app development. It also allows users to use HTML, CSS and Javascript, as well Google’s material design visual framework, allowing developers to build apps in an environment that leverages their pre-existing skills and knowledge.

The app development tool connects to a range of data sources and APIs. Users will have built-in support for G Suite products, as well as popular services such as Maps, Contacts, Groups and more, and be able to leverage Google Cloud services such as Directory API and Prediction API, or third-party APIs.

Google say it has ‘previewed the App Maker with a handful of large G Suite customers and many have already built and deployed applications to their organisations.’

The multinational tech company has also added seven new apps to its ‘Recommended for G Suite’ program – including Asana, DocuSign and Freshdesk.

G Suite, originally called Google Apps for Your Domain, already includes Google’s popular web applications – such as Gmail, Drive, Hangouts, Calendar and Docs.
