Every time a payment is made using Android Pay, Google will donate one dollar to DonorsChoose.org, which will redistribute the money to a variety of special needs education programs throughout the US.

As an added incentive on what will likely be one of the biggest days of mobile shopping this year, Google will be doubling its donation for purchases made using Android Pay on Black Friday, with $2 (£1.32) being given to charity for each transaction.

The donations form part of Googles focus on improving the lives of people with disabilities through their Global Impact Challenge: Disabilities. Over the last month, the company has been aiming to shine a spotlight on teachers who are using innovation in the classroom to improve learning and inclusion for children with special needs, donating almost $720,000 to over 700 different projects.

The campaign will run until the end of 2015, with Google capping the donation at 1m dollars, no doubt hoping that the target will drive Android owners with NFC-capable phones running Lollipop and up to adopt the mobile payment system and start spending.
