Instagram has revealed the most popular posts on its social network over the past year.

The top hashtag for the year was #love, and the most photographed location – based on users own geotags – was Disneyland in California. The US accounted for the top three locations, in fact: LAs Dodger Stadium and New Yorks Times Square came in second and third respectively. The top locations outside of the US were the Siam Paragon shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand, and Gorky Park in Moscow.

In the UK, the list was topped by Tower Bridge, followed by the Tower of London, reflecting the popularity of the Seas of Red poppy art installation at the Tower which marked the centenary of World War One – and all 10 of the UKs top locations were in London.

All three of 2014s most liked photos on Instagram were posted by celebrities, unsurprisingly. More specifically, though, they all featured two celebrities pictured together. Kim Kardashians wedding photo with Kanye West topped the list, garnering 2.4m likes, followed by Justin Biebers selfie with Selena Gomez (1.9m likes) and a picture of Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus (1.84m likes).
