Layar Revamps App, Site and Logo

AR company Layar has revamped its app, website and logo.

The app has been redesigned with a more sleek UI and gained a Recent Content feature, which enables users to view a list of previously-scanned AR content.

“The market for AR and interactive print has really begun to develop itself. In the next 12 to 18 months, we expect to see further acceleration in the amount of magazines, newspapers, brands and industries embracing AR and making it a part of their content and marketing strategies,” said Layar CEO Quintin Schevernels. “With our technology, products, knowledge and expertise, we believe that we will play a crucial role in this growth.”

The Layar app averages over 1m downloads each month, and has been downloaded more than 33m times overall. According to Layar, 87 per cent of those who scan a print page with the app go on to interact with the unlocked content.
