Lionsgate and Krispy Kreme create Power Rangers-inspired VR doughnut store

Krispy Kreme has teamed up with Lionsgate to launch its first-ever digital doughnut shop to promote the upcoming release of Power Rangers in theatres 24 March.

Using Matterport technologies, the pair have created a VR version of the Krispy Kreme Angel Grove shop featured in the Power Rangers movie. The experience enables fans worldwide to virtually explore the ‘shop’ and discover sneak peeks from the movie.

“We have teamed up with Lionsgate to promote the Power Rangers film in a way that allows fans to experience Krispy Kreme in a totally new, unexpected way,” said Jackie Woodward, CMO of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “The virtual opening of Krispy Kreme Angel Grove comes with the same passion and excitement experienced with a traditional Krispy Kreme shop grand opening.”

In addition to the VR experience, fans can use the hashtag #KrispyKremeAngelGrove to ‘receive surprises from Krispy Kreme’, interact with a Power Ranger Snapchat geofilter, and enter sweepstakes to win a trip to San Francisco.
