Mobile Marketing Launches the Barca Starta

We here at Mobile Marketing understand how difficult it can be for any company to stand out from the crowd at Mobile World Congress, let alone a new contender. To this end, we have created the Barca Starta competition for mobile start-ups; it’s our way of giving deserving companies a voice.

We’re looking for companies that have been trading for three years or less, with a maximum of 15 staff, but there’s no set turnover limit. Entrants will need to be available in Barcelona for MWC next February. 

We are inviting start-ups to pitch for a place in the final of the Barca Starta competition, which takes place place on the afternoon of Tuesday 26 February in Barcelona, with a party to follow. Finalists will be to give a two-minute presentation to the judging panel, explaining why their company should win.

The winning company, and a runner up, will receive cash prizes. We’ll also be giving wide coverage to all of our finalists – each presentation will be filmed to appear on our site following MWC, and we’ll be running features on the finalists online and in the June issue of our print magazine.

Entrants need to complete a form, which you can get by emailing Kath Clarke, and return it to us by 11 January 2013. We’ll be looking to find out what the start-up does, and what’s different, innovative or disruptive about it, as well as how scalable it is and what the company’s growth targets are.
