Mobile Marketing Live Preview: Financial Services

Our flagship conference, Mobile Marketing Live, opens its doors next Thursday, 3 October, at The Grange St. Pauls in London.

In the run-up to the event, we are offering a preview of what speakers from diferent industry sectors are presenting at the event. On Friday, we looked at our speakers from the Retail community. Today, we look at our speakers from the Financial Services industry. We have three companies from this sector presenting at Mobile Marketing Live. Lets take a closer look at what they will be covering…

UBS

First up, at 9.30, in Stream 1, is Shane Williams, head of mobile development, Platform Services at UBS. Shane develops secure mobile applications across the UBS group. In his presentation, he will look at how brands address the challenges of marketing in a regulated industry, considering how you market  to customers when you can’t reveal client-identifying information by law? Shane will go in depth on how UBS uses technology to market to its customers, while following the laws and rules governing regulated industries, particularly banking.

Barclays

At 10am in Stream 2, Mike Walters, head of UK corporate payments at Barclays, takes to the stage. Mike is responsible for the product management, performance and profitability of Barclay’s suite of corporate payments, including everything from physical cash to complex integrated electronic payment solutions. His role also includes the development of Barclays Corporate Mobile Solutions, including corporate client services within Barclays Pingit.

In his presentation, Mike will explain how Barclays is attempting to simplify the payment experience for consumers, and drive value from that interaction for merchants. He will also consider whether app-based mobile payments are the answer.

Mastercard

Next up in Stream 2, at 12.20, is Andrew Key, group head and group general manager, Acceptance & Market Development, UK & Ireland Division, at Mastercard. Andrew leads the team responsible for developing MasterCard’s relationships with acquirers and retailers, as well as developing the commercial relationship with the UK and Irish Governments, mobile network operators, and organizations from the Travel, Transit & Leisure sector.

In his presentation, Andrew will look at the ongoing evolution of shopping, arguing that, in an increasingly competitive digital world, retailers must innovate, while remaining closely connected to consumers’ needs.

Andrew will discuss the latest MasterCard innovations, such as Masterpass and partnerships with the likes of EE, which are providing enhanced and secure shopping experiences. He will also explore the potential for boosting customer loyalty and retail growth further, using digital wallet technology.
