Mobile Masterclass Goes Global

After a hugely successful first year in 2011, the Mobile Masterclass series, organised jointly by Mobile Marketing and Camerjam, is going global in 2012.

The UK program will continue, with seven Masterclass events. The first is for the Public Sector in January; followed by Financial Services and Retail in May; Travel, Tourism & Culture in June; Automotive and Sport & Leisure in September; and a Brand & Agency event in November.

In addition, the Mobile Masterclass bandwagon will also roll into the US and Germany. In the US, we head for New York in February, where we will hold four Masterclass events over two days – Retail; Finance; Travel, Tourism & Culture; and Brand & Agency. Then in October, we will re-run the Retail and Finance Masterclasses in Chicago.

The first events in Germany will be the Brand & Agency and Retail Masterclasses, to be held in Hamburg in March. In April, we head for Frankfurt for the Mobile Finance Masterclass, and in September, we arrive in Munich for two more events, Retail and Automotive.

Before all that, there are still two more UK Masterclass events to come in 2011. Our first Brand & Agency Masterclass takes place on 22 November in London, while on 5 October, we are running the Sport & Leisure Masterclass, also in London. More than 50 executives from the Sport & Leisure industry have already signed up for that, including representatives from the England & Wales County Cricket Board, the Football Association, Nike, Ladbrokes, Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton football clubs, and Harlequins and London Wasps rugby clubs.

“The 2011 Masterclass Series has given us the opportunity to meet face to face with senior executives from different industry verticals and has proved an excellent forum for driving new business,” says Kelaine Olvera, marketing director at Velti, which has been involved in every one of this year’s Masterclass events.

Al Gerrie, eCommerce manager at Office Shoes, who attended the Retail Masterclass in March, said after the event: “Its opened our eyes to what we need to be doing on mobile and things we hadnt considered. Well take that away and work out where were going next will mobile.”

And Camerjam founder, James Cameron, says that after the great feedback received from the 2011 program, it was “a no-brainer” to take the Masterclass series beyond the UK. “There’s something about the combination of the short company pitch, followed by the in-depth round table ‘speed dating’ sessions that both the mobile experts and the delegates really seem to like,” he says. “It gives the event sponsors the chance to explain their capabilities in more detail, but more importantly, it gives delegates the opportunity to get the answers to the specific issues that are bothering them and helps them to start to formulate their mobile strategy.”

Sponsorship of each Masterclass event is strictly limited to six companies per event, each championing a different area of mobile marketing expertise. To get involved with the Masterclass events as a sponsor, please contact: john.owen@mobilemarketingmagazine.com or T: 077696 74824.
