Mobile to be the UKs Biggest Advertising Channel by 2018

Mobile ad spending in the UK will hit £2.02bn this year, according to eMarketer forecasts – a 96 per cent rise from last years figure of £1.03bn.

Thats equivalent to 27.9 per cent of the money spent on digital advertising in 2014, and 13.4 per cent of all media ad spend in the UK.

By 2018, mobile spend is expected to stand at £6.91bn, making it the single largest channel with an incredible 39.1 per cent of ad spend.

Between now and then, mobiles share of spend is expected to overtake print in 2015 (20.5 per cent, versus 17 per cent), and both TV and desktop in 2016 (27.1 per cent, versus 23.1 per cent for TV and 25.4 per cent for desktop).
