mobileSQUARED Launches Mobile Consumer Trends US Dataset

mobileSQUARED has announced the US launch of the Mobile Consumer Trends (MCT) database. MCT offers data on consumer usage habits – covering the mobile internet, apps, mCommerce, opt-in marketing, and engagement with mobile advertising – and 18-month rolling forecasts.

MCT can identify the actual number of mobile consumers active in each area – searchable by device type, gender, age, geography, income and ethnicity. The database contains historic information going back to Q42009 and is updated every quarter with market research and consumer survey information conducted by mobileSQUARED’s research partner, Lightspeed Research.

Sample stats include:

• There will be a total of 314.59m mobile subscriptions across the US by the end of Q4 2011, rising 4.2 per cent to 327.8m by the end of Q4 2012.

• There will be 33.6m iPhones in the US by the end of Q4 2011, representing 10.7 per cent of the total active subscriptions.

• iPhone numbers will grow by 28 per cent next year to 43m, with Android devices growing 64 per cent from 49.1m to 80.5m.

• Total smartphones across the US (including BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows, Bada, etc) will number 117.9m the end of Q4 2011 and 155.6m at the end of Q4 2012.

MCT will be launched during the access: mobile Roadshow US event at the Academy of Sciences in New York City on 7 December. Registration for the event is free with the promotional code m2roadshow11. You can regsiter here.
