Social and Instant Messaging network MXit has added Facebook to its gateway offering, effectively enabling the approximately 2 million Facebook users in S. Africa to interact with their Facebook contacts via MXits platform of over 14 million users in the country. Around 65% of the S. African Facebook market falls within the 18-34 age demographic, which MXit says makes it a perfect fit for its 17 – 25 year old users. MXit users can already access Yahoo! Windows Live Messenger, G Talk, AIM and ICQ.
