Comcast's NBC introduces first daily news show to Snapchat

NBCNBC News has launched a twice-daily news show on Snapchat Discover – the first daily news show to arrive on the image messaging app.

The show, called ‘Stay Tuned’, will have morning and afternoon editions each weekday and a show on the weekends. The show will also provide updates throughout the day for breaking news.

“It’s fitting that NBC News is pioneering this new format for a new platform,” said Nick Ascheim, SVP for digital at NBC News. “It’s a continuation of NBC News’ tradition of innovation, first in radio, then in inventing colour TV and the morning news program, and now with an entirely new type of news show for Snapchat.”

NBCUniversal invested $500m (£408m at the time) in Snap during its IPO earlier this year, making it the first media company to have a stake in the multinational tech and social media firm. This followed a deal, in August last year, for NBCUniversal to produce exclusive content for Snapchat.
