Net-a-Porter Launches Social Network for Shoppers

screen568x568Net-A-Porter has launched Net Set, a social shopping platform app.

The app enables users to create a profile, which they can use to share photos and Net-A-Porter items that they like. Users can follow – or admire, in the parlance of the app – each other, join Style Tribe groups or follow favourite designers to see this content and potentially buy these items directly

This conversion element even extends to photos of non-Net-A-Porter clothing, through the apps Style Ideas feature. Powered by Cortexica’s FindSimilar visual search technology, it will seek out similar items from Net-A-Porters range based not on colour, pattern and texture.

Net Set has been in the works since 2013, when it was known as Netbook. “We did research and discovered that people arent just inspired by celebrities and fashion bloggers, but by the people they see day-to-day,” mobile manager Sarah Watson told Mobile Marketing last October.
