NSN Handed Hong Kong Brief

Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has been appointed by Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings (HTHKH) as the sole vendor and service partner for its 3G network modernization and expansion project. NSN will deploy High Speed Packet Access evolution (HSPA+) technology to leapfrog existing high speed data access technology and deliver speeds of up to 42Mbps. A five-year framework agreement has been reached between both parties, which includes a minimum equipment purchase of close to HK$ 350 million (27 million).
The projexct will be supported by NSNs most compact base station technology, the Flexi BTS, and its Direct Tunnel solution, that provides the benefits of a flat architecture platform as well as mobile softswitching technology.
To ensure high quality services to HTHKH customers, Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy its NetAct network management system to monitor, manage and optimize the network, and offer a comprehensive range of services including maintenance and competence development training.
