ODG Unveils Two Mixed Reality Smartglasses

ODG SmartglassesAR and VR smartglasses manufacturer ODG (Osterhout Design Group) has unveiled two mixed reality smartglasses at this year’s CES. The devices, called R-8 and R-9, are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

The R-8, weighing 4.5oz, is said to be aimed at the consumer – providing them with access to movies, sports, gaming, navigation, news articles and books. It features HD resolution, over 40 ? field of view (FOV), and augmented, virtual and mixed reality overlays.

The R-9, offering 1080p resolution and a 50° FOV, is intended for light enterprise to prosumer media consumption. It is also functions as a development platform for mobile AR and VR, and smartglasses applications.
