Orange Launches Opt-in SMS Marketing Platform in Botswana

Orange logoOrange Botswana is partnering with a local marketing firm, Incepta Communications, to launch a mobile marketing service called Orange Makoya, which will target the network’s customers who opt in to the service with promotional text messages. Customers select categories and subject areas they are interested in and are then targeted with relevant messages from brand supplying relevant goods and services.

“This is a revolutionary service as it is a first of its kind in Botswana,” said Seeletso Reikeletseng, mobile advertising sales executive at Incepta Communications. “It creates an opportunity for customers to find different services and products through their phones. It will also benefit local brands and various suppliers as they will be able to reach a wider network of their target audience, and it increases the chances of converting leads into actual sales.”

The service is expected to launch by the end of the month.
