Pinterest Launches Marketer Developer Program

PinterestPinterest has unveiled its Marketer Developer Program for partner companies, which will benefit from exclusive access to tools for Pinterest marketing.

The first of these tools were also launched, in the form of two APIs. The Content Publishing API is intended to make it easy to post – or pin – organic content on the social network, with tools for sourcing, scheduling, publishing and measuring this content.

“People use Pinterest to plan their future, which is why content from businesses is essential in helping people discover the creative things they want to do next,” said Jyri Kidwell, head of marketing partnerships at Pinterest. “With the right pin, you can inspire someone to take action, whether that’s saving an idea for later or making a purchase from your website.”

The Ads API, which is launching as a beta in the US, makes it possible to post promoted pins – Pinterests native ad format – through third-party applications, which means they should be easier to buy at scale.

These APIs are currently only available to the 10 partners in the Marketing Developer Program: Ahalogy, Buffer, Curalate, Expion, Newscred, Percolate, Shoutlet, Spredfast, Sprinklr and Tailwind.
