Quids In

Mobile payments are the hot ticket in mobile marketing right now, with everyone from Google to Barclays and everyone in between, including most major mobile operators, desperate for a slice of the pie.
This time last year, the space was a more nascent one, but things seem to have exploded in the last 12 months, and we are looking forward keenly to see the breadth and strength of entries this year.

The winner in the Mobile Payments Solution category in last years Effective Mobile Marketing Awards was Flexion for its Flexion Wrapper technology. This is a way of adding billing and other services to downloadable content.

The technology works by creating a small amount of code that is ‘wrapped’ around mobile content such as games or apps. This wrapped code enables a range of additional services, such as in-app billing, Digital Rights Management (DRM), content discovery, and on-device retailing.

Content owners can create customised pricing options and promotional models, such as free trials, rentals, bundles and discount and loyalty schemes. They can also offer additional content to their customers through Discovery, a dynamic storefront delivered with every wrapped game. This enables further up-selling of content.
A worthy winner last year then. Who will triumph in this category this year? If youre active in the mobile payments space, whether youre a bank, a mobile operatpr, or an OTT player, be sure to enter the Awards. After all, in an increasingly crowded marketplace, what better way to achieve cut-through than by picking up one of our Awards.

To enter The Mobile Payments Solution category, or indeed any other, in this years Awards, head over to the Awards website for details, download the Entry Form, and get it back to us before 5pm UK time on Friday 10 August. Thats just three days away. And remember, its completely free to enter, and you can submit as many campaigns as you think are worthy of recognition. The Awards Ceremony takes place in London on 29 November.

And if you missed our Awards webinar last week, you can catch a recording of it here. It’s very short, only around 10 minutes, just a quick run through of the entry criteria and key dates.
