River Cottage Launches iPhone App

The River Cottage has launched an iPhone app, including seasonal recipes, videos and a a live help network for culinary questions, as well as a local sourcing guide to help users when they are shopping, eating out or even foraging for free food. Users of the app can also add their own reommendations and comments too. The app will be upgraded with new recipe packs throughout the year.

To celebrate the launch of the app, River Cottage is running a national foraging competition. 20 River Cottage Golden Tickets worth thousands of pounds have been hidden across the country in shops, restaurants and possibly fields. To find a Golden Ticket, users need to check the ‘In the Wild’ tab in the ‘Local’ section of the app.

“I believe passionately that everyone should be able to experience the satisfaction and pleasure that comes from eating delicious, local, seasonal food,” says River Cottage owner, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. “This app is all about making that easier, helping you to source the freshest ingredients and use them in the best and simplest ways so you can celebrate good food every day. Download and tuck in!”

The River Cottage Every Day app launches today and costs £2.99, with additional seasonal recipe packs available in the future to buy for £1.19.
