Salesforce Acquires Mobile Authentication Firm Toopher

salesforce and toopherMobile authentication startup Toopher has announced that it has been acquired by cloud computing CRM firm Salesforce in an undisclosed deal that will see Toopher integrated into Salesforces suite of security tools.

As part of the deal, the Texas-based Toopher has stopped selling its products via its website as the company prepares to join Salesforces staff and integrate its offering into their services.

Toopher provides two-factor authentication for mobile devices, checking a number of factors including a users location before enabling them to log in or perform various secure functions on their smartphone or tablet.

Salesforces security suite currently includes OpenID Connect and Login Flows, which enables system administrators to develop their own post-authentication processes to address the needs of their individual audiences.

“We are thrilled to join Salesforce, where well work on delivering the Toopher vision on a much larger scale as part of the worlds number one cloud platform,” said founders Josh Alexander and Evan Grim in a statement announcing the acquisition.

“We cant imagine a better team, technology and set of values with which to align. Even though we will no longer sell our current product, our commitment to your security remains steadfast.”
